We'd like to collect further information so if you know of anything - maybe interesting people who are buried in Toxteth Cemetery or who lived in the villas around the park - please email us at history@tann.org.uk.

16-Sept-2009 - The Secret Life of Smithdown Road

'The Secret Life of Smithdown' is an exciting EU-funded project exploring the local neighbourhood. The project aims to discover how local shop keepers and shops have helped shape the area and the diverse lives of local residents past and present. The information collected will feature in the People's City gallery at the Museum of Liverpool Life which is due to open in 2011 and there will be a mini-exhibition about it in Oomoo Cafe throughout September.

The organisers want to hear your comments about the area. What is it like to live here? How has it changed? What is your favourite shop or shop keeper? Share your comments, memories and photographs of Smithdown Road on Facebook and in the 'Secret Life of Smithdown' Flickr group or email curator of community history Kay Jones with any information you may have.
